A Reminder: The Cross & Communion
As we gather this morning at Twin Valley Alliance Church for worship and communion, may our hearts be deeply moved by the weight of what we remember.
The Cross changed everything.
Once a symbol of cruelty and death, the Cross has become a symbol of hope, mercy, and eternal life. Why not the empty tomb as our symbol? Because the Cross is where the price was paid. It’s where love bled, where mercy triumphed over judgment, and where Jesus bridged the gap between us and God.
Long ago, God’s people celebrated Passover to remember the blood of a lamb that saved them from death. But at the Last Supper, Jesus revealed a greater truth—He is the Lamb, and His blood brings a new covenant. No more temporary coverings for sin. Jesus paid it all—once and for all. (Luke 22:20, Hebrews 10:4)
Communion is not just tradition. It’s not just bread and juice. It’s a sacred moment to remember the pain, the love, and the eternal provision of Christ on the Cross.
So today, let us come to the table with reverence. With gratitude. With awe.
And may we never stop telling the story of the Cross.
Let’s live in the light of His sacrifice—and share that light with the world.
