As we head to the polls, let’s remember to seek guidance from God’s Word, not from fleeting emotions or personal opinions. Scripture encourages us to pursue wisdom and discernment. James 1:5 reminds us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
The Bereans set a great example by carefully examining the Scriptures to test everything they heard (Acts 17:11). Likewise, we can weigh our decisions against biblical principles to ensure they align with God’s truth.
While feelings may change, God’s Word remains firm. As we vote, let’s seek His wisdom so our choices honor Him and reflect our commitment to His Kingdom.
A Call for Grace in Speech and Action
Our words can either build up or tear down. James 3 reminds us about the power of the tongue and the need to speak wisely. It’s easy to be driven by emotions, especially with strong opinions on political issues, but as followers of Christ, we are called to be guided by Scripture. Like the Bereans, we should seek truth in the Word daily (Acts 17:11).
Let’s remember Ephesians 4:29, which says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Our purpose is to point people to Christ, not to a candidate. Let’s make sure our words and actions reflect Christ’s love and grace, shining His light to promote unity.
May we be known today for our kindness, purpose, and unwavering commitment to building each other up in Christ.
